Advantages and disadvantages of various application methods of organic fertilizer

source: time: 2020-08-29 10:41:33

1. Apply organic fertilizer as base fertilizer

This method refers to applying organic fertilizer to the soil before sowing or applying it near the seed during sowing. This method is suitable for crops with higher planting density.

This method is simple and easy, and the amount of fertilizer applied is relatively uniform. But this method also has its drawbacks. For example, because the entire field is fully applied, the root system can only absorb the fertilizer around the root system,  the fertilizer utilization rate is relatively low.

2. Apply organic fertilizer as top dressing

Top dressing refers to the supplement and supply of nutrients to crops during their growth period. For crops cultivated at high temperature, it is best to reduce the amount of base fertilizer and increase the amount of topdressing.

This method can ensure that crops will not grow poorly due to lack of nutrients during the growth period, but this method must be adjusted according to ground temperature, crops, etc., and it needs to be applied in advance to reserve enough time for nutrient release.

3. Apply organic fertilizer as nutrient soil

Many of the vegetables, fruits and flowers grown in greenhouses will choose soilless cultivation. The organic fertilizer is added to the soilless culture substrate, and solid fertilizer is added to the substrate every certain period to maintain a continuous supply of nutrients, which reduces the number of times of watering the nutrient solution and reduces the production cost.
